RC PRO SERIES SOUTH AFRICA FINALS

30 Aug - 2 Sep 2007, Avion Raceway

      Sponsored by Hobby Warehouse

Kempton Park

THE BIGGEST RC OFF ROAD EVENT EVER HELD IN SOUTH AFRICA
TOTAL PAYOUT OF R 35’000-00 Rand

The newly built racetrack was truly amazing; it had been designed and built to perfection. Even the most seasoned pros worked really hard to get their cars dialled in. The track surface started blue grooving on Friday morning during practice, the rhythm sections were timed to perfection the jumps were built with precision and it was then that we realised that a competition of note was about to unfold. The first qualifiers started and our predictions were spot on.

TQ:  Mark Remcken, Mugen Team Driver / JP Engines

Avion Raceway driver Mark Remcken was on the pace and TQ'd after the 4th round of qualifying. He posted his personal best time of 5m32.212 that earned him first place on the grid. Avion Raceway driver Michael Gibson qualified second with a 5m33.332 (and carded the fastest lap of 46.504). Third on the grid was also an Avion Raceway driver Carl-Hein Frommann with a 5m35.865. Fourth qualifier was Avion Raceway/Falcon engine driver Charl McGregor with a time of 5m36.996.

Remcken and Gibson's buggies were dialled in the qualifiers; both drivers had the new track layout taped. Gibson looked good during qualifying, and was set to give Remcken a run for the money in the Mains. Carl-Hein was hot on their heels the pressure was on for the Mains.
