Traxxas has announced several sweet promotions for the upcoming TORC RC event at Carnadon International this weekend. The chance to win a ride in the Traxxas Pace Truck has also been extended to the race in Barks River Michigan in July!
Practice opened at 9am and racers slowly started arriving. Traxxas had announced earlier in the week a 2nd day of racing would be added on Friday. A number of the racers either didn't receive the news or received it late enough to not be able to plan better so the organized racing was scheduled to start at 3pm. At 3 we started what would be 3 rounds of qualifying and mains. Turnout was light so the Open and Spec were combined into a single class. The two clases proved to be pretty equal because of limited traction on this particular dirt. CJ Greaves came away as the winner followed by Dalton Bechard and Mike Fisk in the combined class. There were A and B mains for this class. We had 3 Slayer entries on Friday which saw Holli Bechard take the win followed by Brian Skinner and Martin Gaona.
Practice opened at 9am Friday. The track was a little rougher than intended due to the black gumbo used being really hard to lay smooth. The good part of it was there was mega traction whether the track was wet or dry! Racers had to learn how to ease into the cormers or suffer a traction roll. We pushed back the practice races until 6pm to allow late arrivals a chance to get in some practice.
Spectator turnout on friday was good considering most of the track time was open practice and we only did announcing during the races at the end of the day.
The race this coming weekend in Lutz Florida is being post-poned due to rain. It's been raining heavy for the last week and still raining at this point. The projection is anywhere from 40-70% through the weekend. The track is already soaked and soggy and even if it stops raining before the weekend it will be a muddy mess which will be dangerous for the marshals along with muddy cars and parking so the decision has been made to move the race to the June 20th weekend. The track management has looked at the schedules in their area and see this as the only open date available.
If you have signed up early and can't make the new date please contact Joey Perez at rccrazy@msn.com
The Midwest round 1 event has been postpone due to flooding at the track. The club and RC Pro feel if the track could be repaired the parking would be a muddy mess. We all want everyone to come have fun and not have to deal with mud to start with.
The rescheduled date is June 19th-21st. If you are not able to make that date and have already paid your entry for this weekend please contact Colton Keifer for a refund. cjkiefer@kieferdesigns.com
We have made several adjustments to the track layout below is the new layout.

Races Start
We will be able to finalize the Saturday schedule once entries are finished. There will be breaks scheduled in to watch the Traxxas TORC races during the day. The TORC RC racing will be finished by dark on Friday and Saturday. The majority of the full scale races will be under the lights both nights so we should all get to see the majority of the racing. The TV broadcast of the TORC event will be on Sunday May 24th at 11am EST on ESPN2. If you can't make it to the event be sure to watch the broadcast and see some of the TORC RC on TV.
I was contacted along with many other companies in the RC industry by my good friend Steve Webster from Indy RC World about the following event. I'm just going to post the reason behind this event and the flier. If you can find a way to make this event please do if you can't but would like to help out please contact Steve at the shop. I'm sure if you would like to enter and make that a donation it would be fine. The entry is on the RCsignup link below. If you just want to donate your entry fee please send Steve a note so they know. It's a shame there is a need for these kinds of events but it's heart warming to see the rc industry step up and forget all the petty bs that happens in an effort to do something good for fellow racers and their families. For a complete listing of the current sponsors please see the Rcsignup entry form.
Dear Friend
Recently one of our local racers (Travis Roper) sent his four daughters off to church with a friend. As they were waiting to turn in to the church parking lot they were hit in the rear by a car doing 70 mph. This spun them around and into an oncoming SUV then the first car hit them again. Both the SUV and the second hit from the first car hit the door where Travis’ 9 year old daughter Hope was sitting. Everyone in the car was injured in some manner but Hope receive severe head trauma. Hope put up the good fight for three weeks before losing her battle. Hope had been around the track and had a good time with her dad here; she liked RC and the racing. Hope would have been 10 years old on Apr.15 2009.
This Race and Raffle is in her memory and to assist the family in their time of need. All proceeds from our race entries and our snack bar will go to the Hope Fund. We would like to make the Raffle something very special to show the great heart of our RC community. At this time we have 6 of the hobby shops from Dallas/Ft. Worth area involved this should end up being 10 to 15 when we are to the race date. We also have asked a number of you our suppliers and manufactures to step up and donate for our Raffle. Our ticket price will be $5.00 or 5 for $20.00. With that in mind we have received donations such as engines, car kits, servos and a custom install of a LoJack in a real car. We are talking with Xtreme RC Mag. to do a human interest story on the Race and Raffle to show the best side of RC.
Hope and her family did their share of giving by donating her organs so that others may live their lives to the fullest. Please step up and do what you can to help us this effort!
I would be grateful if you would assist in our efforts to help this family and remember a young lady that was one of our own.

This is the layout planned for the TORC RC event at Texas Motor Speedway next weekend. This is from the drivers stand side. The races will ALL be land rush starts and heads up. Starts will be done in front of the stand and going away to get maximum visibility.
Australia's Losi distributor OMP, today confirmed the attendance of factory team driver Adam Drake at RC Pro Australia. "The Drake" needs no introduction... Adam is without doubt one of the most well recognized figures in 1/8th off road racing today, and joins a cast of international drivers competing on Australian soil in July at the Mooloolah Valley Raceway, Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
Adam is the past RC Pro Buggy and Gas Truck Champion in both 2003 & 2006.
TRAXXAS has returned as the class sponsor for the Pro Mod Truck Class formerly the Monster Truck Class for 2009. The class will be known as Traxxas Pro Mod Truck . Also look forward to Traxxas representing at the Finals again this year showing off their new products.
