Updates

Sorry I have not posted any updates lately things have been a mad house around here. Those who have emailed me lately have received an automatic reply letting them know my Mother had an aneurysm <sp?> last week and I have been spending most of my days at the hospital and I would reply as soon as I could. Thank you for your prayers I think it helped. She is home now and I am now splitting my time between helping to take care of her, watch over my Dad and trying to get the season rolling with RC Pro.
This year I have been holding off getting fliers done trying to get some answers on sponsors. Some have been kind enough to let me know the current economy has forced cut backs and part of that is sponsoring alot of races and I thank them for letting me know and for their support in the past years. Others have not bothered to give me an answer one way or another or just stall me. To those companies thanks for your support in the past but I have to get shirts and fliers done so we will move forward without their logos at this point. I completely understand about the economy forcing cutbacks.
Sponsorship has always been a major part of how RC Pro pays the bills even though the top level sponsorship is 1/2 what some single events get in sponsorship. Some RC Pro events get enough turnout to cover the awards, event shirts and officials travel expenses and some don't. This is where the sponsor money helps cover things especially starting the year. We have a large reduction in sponsor funds this year but we are going forward with the season. WE WON'T RAISE ENTRY FEES OR MEMBERSHIP FEES to make up for less sponsors. We have another way to help keep RC Pro going in this economy and I'll make an announcement on it later this week.
Please support our sponsors!

We would like to welcome Castle Creations as the 1/8 Electric Buggy Sponsor for 2009. It's only fitting that Castle is the sponsor for this class since they have been one of the 1st companies to produce motors and speed controls for the 1/8 conversions.

RC Pro Interview
RYAN LUTZ

I finally had a chance to set down for a chat with Ryan Lutz the RC Pro International Buggy & Arena Truck Champion for 2008. As I always do I try to take a different approach to these interviews than the standard. It helps that I see these racers at numerous events over a period of years and have gotten to know most of them pretty well so I aim for more of a conversation than prim and proper interview. I hope you enjoy the first one from our 2008 Champions.
RC Pro: Ryan how long have you been into RC?
Ryan: I have been racing R/C cars sense the age of 7. So that would be about 17 years!~
RC Pro: Who got you started?
Ryan: My dad got me started. He had already been in the hobby for probably 10 years and he owned a hobby shop in our town. So it was only natural for me to look up to my father and do what he was doing!!
RC Pro:What was your 1st car?
Ryan: My first race car was a Losi Jr. T
RC Pro: Do you remember your 1st race?
Ryan: Nope. I have a bad memory and that was too long ago!
RC Pro: LOL! I know the 1st time I met you and saw you drive was at CRCRC in an RC Pro race in 2005. Everyone kept asking the same question who is this guy and where did he come from! Do you remember that event?
Ryan: I do remember that event. I also remember a lot of people not liking me at that event!! But funny thing is, is that all of those people that I had a less than positive experience at that event with have all actually turned out to be some of my best friends in the industry!

New RC Pro Division
Thu Jan 29, 2009 10:03AM

RC Pro Announcement
New Division
2009 RC Pro will add a new division to the Nitro Offroad Series. This will be the Mid-South Division which will encompass Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee.
The tracks are:
Preemo's RC - Whitehouse, TN.
Nitro Fever - Wilsonville, AL.
Flowood RC - Flowood, MS.
The dates are being put on the schedule now. They will be at the bottom of the schedule until I can restructure the page to move them up with the other US event.
As it has been for a few years now racers can score national points at any race on our schedule but can only win a division championship with points scored in that division. We should see racers from the states surrounding this new division participating plus the racers that live in the new division who may not have raced in the series before so turnout for these races should be pretty good.

1/8 Electric Class
Thu Jan 15, 2009 4:29PM

RC Pro and Caster Racing USA have temporarily joined forces to help kick off the new 1/8 electric 2009 season with a bang!
Since Caster is currently the only true electric buggy and truggy manufacturer on the market, yet are unrecognized, they offered to do a great promo that will help RC Pro and YOU!"
Caster Racing has announced that they created a promo sku for their cart that will take the Fusion race roller all the way down to $250. This is a $100 savings!! What a great way to enter the 1/8 scale electric races. This is an assembled buggy just add radio gear, speed control, motor, servo and batteries! This gives you the freedom to choose the electronics YOU want!
OR for those who want to step up to the Pro Fusion instead of the Race Roller the code will give you a $50 discount off the Pro.
Now you are probably asking yourself how this benefits RC Pro. RC Pro has decided that with proof of purchase, a person can receive a free RC Pro membership. That is right. On top of getting the fusion discounted, with proof of entry, Caster Racing will pay your RC Pro membership or membership renewal at your 1st event of 2009 ( a $20 value) as long as the buggy was purchased through Caster Racing USA.
To take advantage of this special send an email to the following and receive a code for ordering either the Race Roller or Pro on the Caster USA website. specials@rcprosites.com

National Championship Club Series
Thu Jan 1, 2009 2:11PM

RC Pro and RCSignup introduce the National Championship Club Series.
The series is designed to bring more interest to local club racing. The industry has had a large number of tracks closing because of less club racing so we are trying to develop something to help boost club racing. This series also will interest those racers who only race local and don't travel.
Any track in the US can signup as long as they run the Slash spec class and have electronic scoring. Tracks can schedule 6 club events through out the year that will score National Points.
No cost to the tracks!
Any racer can enter and score points at any track in the series. Each racers best 4 races will count. No traveling to a National Final event, just race locally and have FUN!
No membership fees for the racers!
We have designed the NCCS website so tracks can enter each race results and the site will automatically calculate the points and display the standings for each track plus the national standings.
Year end awards for the top 20 Nationally.
For the full info on the series go to http://rcpro.rcsignup.com/nccs
