Round 4 South

I received as phone call today from a racer in Texas that found an item on the Team Nemo site that says "River Track - 3 race series - postponed due to rain" .

This item was about a 3 race series at the River Track and was back on August 19th! It has nothing to do with the RC Pro race this weekend!

Round 4 at the River Track is ON!! So be there!

Website updates.

Website updates and some directions for using the site.

If you'll notice in the header there's a new button. The State Series site is up and running although there isn't much content right now. As I get more info from the state reps I can fill it in. It does have the entry info for the Texas State Finals listed. State reps I need your info as well as logos for your sponsors. Some have sent those some haven't.

As most of you have noticed I have overloaded the buttons on most of the pages........... that didn't take long! Mike is working on a new header and button arrangement to give me room to expand in the future. Some of you may have seen the new header while he was testing.

I've had a couple people that are having problems finding stuff. I had a tutorial of sorts here when we started up the new site but it has been pushed down the page. So I'll do it again.

One of the things people are having trouble finding are the points fior the Dirt Oval Series. Just click the button that says Dirt Oval....... on that page in the header is a button that says Overall National Points. Just click that for the points.
Keep in mind if you are on the gas offroad page the race schedule, points, rules, sponsors and permanent car numbers buttons are Nitro Offroad specific. Each individual Series page the buttons are specific to that series. How do we do that? We have a seperate site for each series and then the main RC Pro Series site. So we have 6 sites combined into one.

The old RC Pro Series site will come down soon. I still have some things to transfer over as I get time. I'm gradually getting some help on the new site. Wayne is taking care of the updates on the permanent numbers, David Lovett and Jeff Schwartz will be helping populate and update the state Series site. I just have to teach my National directors how to update their sites now! This is a warning that possible problems could come up! LOL
As it stands right now I'm doing the updates on all 6 sites. I think everyone has seen a vast improvement in updates with this site. Thanks to Mike Crabtree with 5 Spoke for the design and code work to make it so much easier for me to maintain.

Here's the preliminary lists for 4 of the 5 divisions. As soon as I get the updates done for the West I will post the early list for that division. The Northeast is the only division done at this point and the only division with a complete invitation list. The other divisions have a partial list until those divisions finish up. The partial list is anyone with 350 points or more in each class.
I'm waiting on my web designer to finish the online sign up hopefully it will be in the next day or two.

FINALLY HOME

Okay for everyone that has emailed me while I was in Rome NY I'll try to answer as soon as possible my internet connection wasn't the best while I was there. I should have been home early yesterday but with the flight delays, cancelations and truck that wouldn't start at the airport it was well after midnight before I got home. I intended on working on updates while in the Detroit airport but as usual my phone was constantly ringing so it never happened. I'm working on those right now and hopefully will have them up before I have to go back to the airport to get my truck this afternoon.

Also if you need to call me please call the house number for now. Right now I'm in a dispute with Cingular over the charges they have for me last month, seems it takes them almost 2 months to change my plan instead of immediately. I'm trying to not use that phone so they don't send me another $1,000 phone bill until I see if I will be changing phone companies or not.

ROUND 3 SOUTH UPDATE

We were just starting the 1/8 expert round 4 when rain hit at 9:00 pm. All the rest of round 4 had been ran. We're in the middle of a thunderstorm right now with the lights out in the hotel. We plan to resume at 7:30 sunday morning weather permitting with the remainder of round 4. We will have to start at race 11. The track was very dry and will absorb a lot of water so hopefully we will be ok........... just have to wait until morning to see.

When we got to the track the next morning there was a lake. The Action crew was already onsite moving water. Finally about 11 we were able to get some trucks on the track to work it in. We had a quick drivers meeting at noon and then went straight into the mains. See the results on the race calendar in the nitro offroad section.

US OPEN FUEL SEDAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Kissimmee RC Raceway will be hosting the 1st US Open Fuel Sedan Championships. This will be an RC Pro sanctioned event.......... membership not required.

NEW SITE

As you can see the new site is live now. Just a couple directions on how to use the site.

In the header you see the menu. Click the series (offroad gas, electric offroad, gas onroad, dirt oval) you want to view. When your on that page the sponsor, rules, points and race schedule tabs in the header are for THAT series.

To view those pages for another series you must click the tab to go to that series page.

The pictures in the header should tell you what series page your on. The Dirt Oval picture isn't the right one yet but we're working on that.

For results on any races go to the proper series page and click on the race schedule tab. Then click on the appropriate race for the results.

Have fun browsing the new site. The racer pages should be turned on soon so the RC Pro Members can setup their own personal pages.

FINALS ANNOUNCEMENT

Tonight on racenitelive I will announce the information about the 2006 Nitro Offroad Finals. Racenitelive averages 300,000 listeners per show so tune in at 8 pm eastern time to hear the info first. I'm not sure what time I will be on yet. The show runs from 8 to midnight eastern.

We're currently working with more companies in the RC industry that will offer DISCOUNTS and SPECIAL OFFERS to the members. We're not just concentrating on the RC industry though! I'm talking to car rental companies and hotel chains about discounts for the members as well. So there is a lot more coming for the members.

With the discounts and special offers each member will be able to save enough money to far surpass the membership fee!

RC PRO MEMBERSHIP QUESTIONS

I have been informed of several misconceptions about the new membership that I would like to address.

1.Membership is not required as of yet for any RC Pro event.

2. The 2006/2007 Electric Offroad Series will be the 1st series to require membership.

3. All other National Points Series will require membership starting in 2007.

Hopefully this will dispell any incorrect rumors.

FUTABA NITRO CHALLENGE

This year RC Pro is sanctioning select special events. The 1st one will be the Futaba Nitro Challenge at Hobbies Xtreme in Bossier City Louisiana. RC Pro rules will apply and membership is NOT required.

I have sent the membership list and numbers to the card printer for everyone who has signed up by July 22nd to have those cards done. I'll send 20 at a time so there isn't a long wait for the cards.
