I pulled this info off their website minutes ago.
SpeedJam is One Day. Too Much Excitement. Three Races.
HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY TO HOST INAUGURAL XM SATELLITE RADIO SPEEDJAM, MARCH 24TH
On Saturday, March 24, South Florida will be introduced to a brand new kind of event that combines food, racing, a car show, music, and more, all for one low price: XM Satellite Radio SpeedJam.
What is XM Satellite Radio SpeedJam?
Racing: Three exciting races will take place as part of XM Satellite Radio SpeedJam. First, up and coming drivers will hit the track in the IndyPro Series Miami 100. The Linder Industrial Komatsu Grand Prix of Miami will follow, with Ferraris, Porsches, and Daytona Prototypes racing around the Speedway's 11-turn road course. After the sun sets, the action will heat up with the XM Satellite Radio Indy 300, as Danica Patrick, Marco Andretti, Helio Castroneves and others hit speeds of over 200 miles per hour, under the lights for the very first time
Food: In addition to the tasty treats and savory smells of the food booths at Homestead-Miami Speedway, there will also be an actual Memphis in May sanctioned barbecue competition taking place on site. Come watch top grill masters battle for prizes and a spot in the upcoming national competition.
Car Show: South Florida car enthusiasts will enjoy the car show at XM SpeedJam. This show will feature everything from high-end luxury cars and restored classics to exotics and even choppers on display.
Music: Youll enjoy free concerts and music of all types throughout the day as part of XM Satellite Radio SpeedJam. Stay tuned to hear which nationally-recognized recording artist will perform a pre-race concert before the Indy 300!
MORE: Carnival rides, high-speed karting races, remote control (R/C) car races, interactive displays, showcars, and much more, all for one low ticket price.
Tickets for XM Satellite Radio SpeedJam are on sale now. Please call (866) 409-RACE or visit http://www.homesteadmiamispeedway.com/ or http://www.racetickets.com/.
Permanent Number Info
Thu Feb 8, 2007 1:40PM
RC Pro uses a permanent number system where each racer has the chance to choose his or her favorite number. This is done to make rc racing more like full scale racing.
Wayne has had internet problems the last few weeks and hopefully it is fixed now. He is behind but feels he should be caught up late tonight. He is having problems with some number submissions though. This is from lack of the proper information so please include all info especially your NAME! Also he needs CLASS OR CLASSES, WHAT SERIES (electric nitro offroad etc.) and ATLEAST 3 CHOICES on numbers incase your 1st choice is already taken. Please click on the permanent number link in the menu of any of our series for all the information.
IF you don't have a number registered before an event you can still sign up and get a temporary number at the event. We will ask you for your number requests at the event so we can get you a permanent number after that event.
thanks
Carlton
LOW EARLY ENTRIES
Wed Feb 7, 2007 6:36PM
We are just getting into the majority of the electric offroad schedule starting this weekend. I don't like making format changes after things have been advertised but at the remaining events in the Electric Series if early entries are not at a reasonable number 30 or more we will adjust the schedule to run all of the classes on either saturday or sunday. This will give the tracks a chance to still be able run some of their normal club events that would normally not be run because of the RC Pro format.
So now it's up to the electric racers. If your going to an event get your entries in or work out something with the track so they know what to expect for attendance. Since before I took over RC Pro I've had questions of when is RC Pro going to do electric and help build it back up? Last year was the 1st year for it and it was good in some areas and very poor in others. This year it's time for the racers to step up and show they want to bring electric back. Whether 2008 has another electric series or not depends on the racer attendance this year.
Great Lakes Division Round 1
Wed Feb 7, 2007 6:19PM
Due to low early entry for the Great Lakes Division Electric Offroad Round 1 at CRCRC we will be making a format change.
Due to the low early entry count we will be adjusting the format accordingly.
Friday - Practice 10am - 9 pm - NO CHANGE
Saturday - 2 hours of practice for anyone that DID NOT practice friday. Racing starts at 10 am. Signups end at 9:30 am.
ALL CLASSES WILL BE RAN ON SATURDAY!
Sunday - no racing.
thanks

Homestead Hotels
Tue Feb 6, 2007 8:27PM
The Holiday Inn University of Miami is holding 20 rooms for RC Pro racers going to the Homestead event. If you are going to use this hotel please make your reservations! They started bugging me two weeks ago because no one has made a reservation yet. This tells me they are going to try and get out of holding the rooms until then unless they start getting some calls.
Jeff and I called a number of hotels looking for rooms and deals and this is one of the only ones that was willing to work with us.
RC Pro Memberships
Sun Feb 4, 2007 2:49PM
Just an update on memberships.
Single event memberships ARE available at the events from the RC Pro rep. This is good if you are only racing your local race and don't intend on going to more events or the Finals. The cost is $5.
Our automatic confirmation still isn't working the webmaster is working on it but right now I am doing it manually. Keep in mind if I'm at an event you may not get that confirmation until I get home. It depends on how busy I am and whether my satellite card is getting a connection. If you need a membership number for your entry don't wait until the last minute to do your membership just in case I'm traveling.
How long does it take to get my card?
I submit membership cards to the printer every monday. It takes about 2 weeks for me to get them, unless they have a problem that delays them. Sometimes I get them early I never know. As soon as I get them Mary mails them out so it should take between 2 to 3 weeks.
Tips on filling out the membership.
Fill in ALL fields. This is very important. Especially the state because that is part of your membership number. If you hit go to step two and it takes you back to the form you did something wrong. At that point you will have to alter your username and password whne you submit it again. If it still takes you back to the form then send me your info and I will make it work from my end.
thanks

RC News Sites
Fri Feb 2, 2007 4:11PM
We partnering with several RC News sites now which along with getting our news spread world wide will give the American racers a chance to see what the rest of the world is doing. We would like to welcome our partners
Red RC

Rubeduderc from Australia

We are working on an RSS feed for our site and as soona s i figure out how to link these news RSS feed to our site you will be able to see the latest news from them right here.
Homestead Schedule
Thu Feb 1, 2007 10:29PM
IF we hit our entry limits here's how things can work.
Thursday - practice
Friday - practice until 2:00 then 2 rounds of qualifying ending at 8:00pm
Saturday - 1 round of qualifying starting at 8 am. Mains start at
11:30 and end by 7:00pm.
If any problems arise we can have some time on sunday. This can hold with trying to get the majority of our program in on saturday plus give more practice time on friday and one round of qualifying on saturday. We can open the track friday night after qualifying until we need to shut down. Entries must be in by March 10th we can then set a definite schedule since we will know exactly how many qualifiers we will need per round and how many mains we will need.
If we get less than our maximum turnout we can either have a more relazed saturday (get to watch more of the happenings) or add an extra round of qualifying.

Electric Offroad - Enid RC
Tue Jan 16, 2007 10:26PM
Round 1 of the North was scheduled for this coming weekend at Enid RC. Due to the snow, sleet and freezing rain currently falling and predictions for up to 4 inches more this coming weekeend we have elected to postpone this race. We don't want the racers taking chances to get to the events.
Due to upcoming races in the area we have moved the race to April 7th weekend. Hopefully this will give the racers enough time to reschedule and also not put it too close to The Bigfoot Race or the RC Pro race at Hutchinson Kansas. For those who have already entered if you feel you may not be able to make the new date please call Darin at the shop for a refund. If you have a hotel booked you should be able to cancel it without any problems but if you have any let Darin know and he will go visit the hotel for you.
thanks

The Nitro Pit
Tue Jan 9, 2007 8:03PM
The Nitro Pit in Wittman Arizona is the 1st RC Pro sanctioned track. This means they have the RC Pro insurance package. This doesn't mean you have to be an RC Pro member to race there! RC Pro membership is only required at national points events. The Nitro Pit has ran 1 Arizona State Series event this year and has a Western Division points series event in October. The next big race for this track will be the Nitro Challenge. Below is the flier for that event.
