RC Pro West Round 2 - OnroadThu Aug 16, 2007 5:14PMEarlier in the year we had to cancel plans for a 2nd west coast race at Revelation when they closed their onroad track. We FINALLY have a round 2 event scheduled now. Round 2 will be at SV Speedway in Sun Valley California September 22nd & 23rd. The Flier is posted HERE Getting Caught UpTue Aug 7, 2007 11:39AMI'm back in Texas now after being on the road for 3 weeks. I'll be trying to get all the results from the Onroad and Offroad races that I'm behind on. I had very limited phone and internet connection while I was staying in Illinois, I had to go into the Barnes and Nobles each day to get as much done as possible before the laptop battery died. I also have a lot of membership cards that were delivered to me while I was traveling. I passed a lot of them out at the races but still have a lot to mail out. I will be confirming the location and details for the Nitro Offroad Finals either late this week or early next week. I got the pricing after I left for my road trip and I still have to complete the paper work. It will be indoor so no chance of rainout. The dates are as listed on the schedule. The format will be the same as last year - track build on monday the 5th, practice on tuesday & wednesday, quailifying for Gas Truck, Intermediate and Expert Arena Truck on Thursday, qualifying for Monster Truck, Expert & Intermediate Buggy on Friday. Some lower mains will be ran both days depending on turnout in each of the classes. D-A mains should ba ran on Saturday. The awards banquet will be on Sunday. The location will be Alvarado Texas - 25 miles south of Ft. Worth and 45 miles from DFW Airport. I will be visiting the local hotels to set up deal for our event late this week and early next week and I will be posting those details too. thanks View comments [ 2 ]
Nitro Beach ChallengeWed Jul 11, 2007 2:33AMConstruction has finally started on the Nitro Beach track for the race in January. Rafa, Braulio and crew went out last weekend and did the layout for the track by cutting the grass short and applying weed killer where the lanes will be. The next step is to start the drivers stand and bring in the clay. The clay will be laid in the design that has been laid out and should be 8 to 10 inches deep not counting the jump areas. This will be a ribbon style track and the marshal areas (the unmowed area) will remain the natural grass. Below is a link to the pics from this past weekend. The over all dimensions of the track is 200x100. The back straight is 200ft long. The front pit straight is 110ft long. The lanes are 15ft wide on the entire track. Pic from this past weekend. Nitro Onroad - South Rd 1Tue Jul 10, 2007 1:16PMThe South Round 1 event is this weekend at RCRCNT in Rendon Texas. I'll be coming out saturday to hang out and visit with the racers and try to give Steve Webster a hand. Look forward to seeing everyone again.
