Ian Crabtree Benefit News
Tue Jul 1, 2008 5:38PM
This past weekend was amazing! Not because of the rain and racing but because of the racers! Bear with me because there is a story here.
As we were arriving to Indianapolis one of the guys in our group contacted a friend of his that lives in Indy now. As it turns out he is a Snap On rep now. We met for lunch and while talking I told him about the Benefit events for Ian. Once finished with lunch we went to his warehouse so Mike could look at some tools. The discussion turned to an item he suggested for the charity auctions of which he didn't have at the time. As we were leaving Mike came walking into the RV with 2 Snap On leather jackets for the auction. So these will be going up on Ebay soon. He also had a new tool bag for himself plus some other stuff. So we head on out to the track in Edinburg. Once there Mike decided he wanted to donate the bag for an auction. Well the issue was there was no way I could get it into my suitcases to bring them back to Texas, so we decided to auction the bag at the race. I really didn't expect much from it but I was soon very surprised. While waiting on the track to dry Sunday morning we figured it would be the best time to try and auction the bag.
I made the announcement of what we were doing and what it was for and in the next 30 minutes I was reminded why I love rc!
First up to offer a bid was Jesse Wolkenheim's group for $50 with the notice whether they won or not to keep the money. Now Kenny Rice from Fastrax Hobbies bids higher then Jesse tops that! In the end Dominick Grande wins the bag for $200 but during the bidding we received donations from RJD Hobbies for $150 and some of their racers and a group of Kentucky/Tennessee racers for $140. By the time it was over we had $670 in donations and auction money for the Medical Fund! The guys from JCP added $200 on to that to bring it to $870. RC Pro will round it off to $1100. I also have paperwork from Starbucks where we can apply for a matching donation up to $1000 so hopefully that will come through and we can add to the total.
Thanks so much to all the following people.

Nitro Offroad West Round 1
Tue Jun 24, 2008 8:13AM
This coming weekend the West round 1 is scheduled in Madera, California. After discussions with the host track CVR Raceway we have decided due to extremely low early entries to postpone this race until a later date. The track has already announced this on their website. They have also received several emails and calls from racers stating they were coming. Had there been early entries to let us know that racers were indeed coming, we would not have even considered postponing the event.
PLEASE let the tracks know you are attending an event! It takes a lot of work for a track to put on an event and all they want is to know racers are coming and they aren't working their butts off for nothing.
We are sorry for the change in plans and will announce a new date for this event next week. RC Pro has never had to do this before but completely understand the concerns of the tracks in these economic times.

All the highways/major roads are open going to the Evansdale/Waterloo area. The weather forecast is showing a 30% chance of rain on wednesday but clear until next week.
I am flying into St. Louis thurday night and driving to Evansdale. See everyone friday!
Ian Crabtree Entries Open
Wed Jun 11, 2008 10:17PM
Entries are open for the events at Black Sheep Raceway and Real RC Raceway.
We are running an "unusual" format since we feel these races should focus on FUN!
These are single day events.
There will be 2 rounds of 5 minute qualifiers. Your single best run will seed you in a main.
The purpose of qualifying is to seed each race into a main with like speed racers.
This is where things get different. Each main from A-Z will run the same length (i.e 30 minutes). Once all the mains are over the finishing order for the clas will be determined by who has the most laps in least amount of time. The winner can come from ANY main!
Entries are available here for Real RC

Entries are available here for Black Sheep Raceway

ALSO THE SPOKANE CLUB IS HOSTING AN EVENT WITH PROCEEDS GOING TO THE IAN CRABTREE MEDICAL FUND. JULY 12TH, 2008
We do not have any info on the format for this event. Please contact the club for that info.
If your in the Northwest please consider going to this event. Thanks to everyone with the Spokane Club!

RC Pro Membership
Wed Jun 11, 2008 2:11PM
Have been getting alot of email about RC Pro membership. If you are going to run in any of the RC Pro Divisional Series races YOU have to be a RC Pro member. Single event membership is available for $5 at the event.
If you are running the RC Pro State Series Events YOU do not have to be a member of RC Pro.
Hope this helps.
